How Colorado Crokinole Boards came to be
and the story of a champion
I have been playing Crokinole
with my Dad since I was very young.

Colorado Crokinole Boards all started
because of the 2011 World Crokinole Championship
in Tavistock, Ontario, Canada.
My Dad and I entered the Recreational Doubles.
I don't think we made the playoffs.
I had bought a new board
a few days before the competition to practice on.
On the way back to Colorado
I figured I could make these boards since
I have been a finish carpenter for over 30 years.
It took a lot of research, trial and error
but I finally came up with the Crokinole board
that is for sale here.

Other boards I've played on are too slow
and some can be too fast.
Colorado Crokinole Boards are just right.
Fast, but not too fast,
so you can control your shots better.
My Dad and I entered
the World Crokinole Championship
in 2015 and came in 6th.
Again in 2016 and came in 4th.
We missed 2017.
Then in 2018 we came in 1st
out of approximately 90 teams.
That was great, especially now
since my Dad passed away suddenly
three and a half months after we won.
He went out a champion.
He was the oldest competitor at the age of 90.
